Age changes us all...

Isn't it funny how music can affect you?  It can cheer you up, make you sad, and in some cases bring out the Papa Bear..

A recent (in the last year because we all know I'm not hip and cool) song came on the radio a while back and I mentioned how I much I liked it.  I love the reggae-ness of it and the lyrics are fun.  Then I watched the video and decided I liked it even more.  The singer looks the part that I imagined in my head.

Yep, I'm that mom who loves Rude by Magic!.   Daddy Chaos, on the other hand, absolutely CANNOT stand this song.  The minute it comes on he gets grumpy and says he can't stand it.  It took a few times of it coming on ... me turning it up ... and him sending grumpy faces for me to get him to admit that it's not the music, it's not the reggae-ness, it is in fact the lyrics.   You see, he is now the Daddy of a daughter .  A daughter who is now at the age that he married me.  A daughter who now has a boyfriend.   Yeah, Daddy Chaos cannot stand this song simply because instead of listening to it and siding with the singer, he now sees himself as the Dad in the song.

When I saw this version on facebook I played it for Daddy Chaos and he immediately says he likes it so much more.

Isn't it funny how our views change as our lives change?

Ironically enough, the song did serve a purpose for us.  A few weeks back, College Girl (Drama Queen) was babysitting and had texted me that when we got home her boyfriend might have a question for us.   Daddy Chaos immediately said NO..  So I texted her back :

Tough love, my friend, but the answer is no.

She got a giggle out of it after saying Oh God NO mom.. lol. :)   That's right.. 1month of college down, 8years left -- no need to have this conversation anytime soon! lol

Incidentally I still love the song :-)

Post-Disney Blisss...

Hi Guys!   Happy New year and all that jazz...  Sorry I've been MIA a bit longer than I expected.  After 9 + days without a computer (but who needs a computer at Disney!?!), I came home to the Snowpocolaps...  -40 with wind chill temps and kids with cabin fever.  I honestly didn't even get onto the computer until Tuesday when I absolutely had to (review blog stuff due).  Beware-- this post is going to be absolutely laden with photos... You have been warned..

I'm trying to get back into the swing of actually being on the computer, which seems weird since I basically live on it normally.  Amazing what a break can do to you!

Anyhoo- we all survived the Great Disney Vacation.  The little kids survived at home with Gpa and Attitude King and were none worse for the wear if a bit smelly when we got home.  Never leave a 15yo boy in charge.. Especially a 15yo boy who has to be reminded to shower and brush his teeth.   uhm... yeah..    Fishing Pole spent the week at Cowie's because I thought  #1) it was best to separate him from the other kids for an easier atmosphere all around #2) he always gets completely spoiled at Cowie's house and he deserves a little spoiling and extra attention with all the crap he has going on.   He did really well there.. I could tell (maybe from the zillions of texts when he would steal Cowie's cell phone and the questions of how many days til I picked him up) that he got a little homesick after a few days.  It was actually nice b/c in his worst moods he is always swearing that he can't stand me and wants to live with Cowie.. Nice to be missed once in a while :-)  Unfortunately for him, Cowie is not a 15yo boy and so he was forced into many baths while we were gone.. I'm sure to hear him tell it, he is nothing but a prune by now.

Daddy Chaos, Drama Queen & I had a wonderful time at Disney.  We stayed at the Caribbean Resort this time around.  While it was pretty nice, I definitely prefer my Animal Kingdom Lodge..  I'm spoiled like that.. lol.  The location was much quicker for buses to the various parks though, so that was a plus.

When we checked in, Drama Queen was able to snag not only a fairy wand but also a cute purple balloon..  Yes, she's a big kid.. ha!  She was always so excited (again , big kid!) when housekeeping would make our beds each day and put her wand & balloon on her bed.  lol.   Me, I like the Mickey head w/ towels.

I swear to you Every.Single.Time we left our room and started walking to the bus stop, the bus we needed would be pulling in. Naturally we could never make it in time and were forced to wait for the next bus.  Drove me insane.. I wouldn't have minded waiting at all if I hadn't see that dang bus.. Argh!..  The bus issue and the fact that we went during a high peak time (we NEVER do that. We always go off season) meant it was super busy and I hate crowds, were the only downfalls.  Still I was prepared for the super crowds and we still had a good time.

Christmas Tree @ Hollywood Studios (aka MGM)

Drama Queen and I chased down the Green Army Man for a picture :)

The Tower of Terror is one ride that I have never once rode..  I never plan to either.. *shivers*   I was happy to stand and play on my phone while Daddy Chaos & Drama Queen went on it..  More power to them.. ick.

Christmas Tree- Main Street USA (Magic Kingdom)
The first day we went to Magic Kingdom, it was packed.. Actually two of the days we went there, the park hit capacity pretty early on.   I was super glad for the opportunity to test the new Magic Bands - which also gave us the ability to FastPass items from home before we even left.  Only 3 FastPasses per day but hey it was wonderful!   We also learned that we could still do FastPasses with our cards as well. SCORE!

Our cute Magic Bands..
So the Magic Band thing is pretty cool if you haven't had a chance to try it out yet (still in testing phase).  Basically your band is your key to the world.  It gets you into the room, pays for your dinner, gets you into the park, does your fast passes. Everything!!!  We all three fought over who got to open the door or pay for meals.. ha.  They were just so much fun!

I honestly didn't take a ton of pictures at Magic Kingdom because I've been there a zillion times and it was super packed.. But I did love some of the changes they've made!  Rapunzel now has a tower (just for show) and the bathrooms have moved over there... The above picture was at the entrance of the girls bathroom.    Honestly, I have more pictures but we tried to save my phone to check reservations ect, and I haven't taken the rest off of Daddy Chaos' or DQ's phone yet..  I suck ... I may make a second post with the rest of the pictures, or I may forget.. We shall see..

My favorite part about Animal Kingdom is definitely the animals.. More specifically the Giraffes!   Love them!  They are by far my favorite animal! :)  Here is their baby.. How cute!!!  I just want to take him home with me.. ha..

New Year's Eve at Magic Kingdom is pretty cool.  I love the icicles on the castle!!  And the colors always amaze me!!

Alas, so many of my good pictures are not on my phone and not here to share.. But if I wait until I steal them back from everyone else's phones... well who knows when I'll get this posted..

I'm off to update the surrogacy blog now...

but in case you wanted a sneak peek....

Date Nite 2013- #1

Date nite with Daddy Chaos tonite!!  He announced Wednesday that we were going out.. Yay! We rarely go out other than to grocery shop.. lol! Yeah, we're fancy like that.  Yet a task has been set down- since we moved I lost my favorite Mexican restaurant.. I have been valiantly trying to find a replacement in our new town and so far have instead found every Mexican restaurant that I will never set foot in again.   Daddy & I drove past one that we didn't know existed and thought "What the heck?"!  It certainly couldn't be any worse.. lol!

I am happy to report that we have finally found a keeper!!  I was not 100% thrilled with the chips (they weren't warm and possibly store bought, not sure) but the salsa, queso and food was wonderful!  And Plentiful!   We had leftovers and every time we got into the car after that we would both take a deep breath and say "Mmmm , the car smells good!".. lol.. Nothing like a little leftover Mexican air-freshener :)

After our lovely and filling dinner- Daddy decided we should make a night of it and go to the movies.  YAY!!  I have been dying to see Les Miserables.  I have never seen it before but I know all the songs.. Ironic, huh?  Back in middle school/ high school, one of my girlfriends and I would sit around her room singing all the songs to either Les Miserables or Phantom of the Opera.. lol.

Let me first say that Les Mis.... Not a good date night movie. Unless you prefer your date to be sobbing all over you and constantly wiping snot on your sleeve.  *ahem*   I spent approx 2hrs of the 2.5hr movie bawling.  Pathetic huh?  I knew the jist of the movie from knowing the songs but something about putting it together and watching it just tore me up.  I am definitely awarding it the first movie to ever make me cry so many times consecutively.  I swear the tears would barely dry up before something made me cry again.  I thought maybe I was just a softie but Daddy Chaos assures me that others were the same way.  Glad it wasn't just me.
 - Side note ~  Who knew Hugh Jackman   or  Russell Crowe could sing??!
- Another side note ~  I only sang along in my head.. Okay maybe I mouthed the words but I did not sing aloud nor did I loudly boo hoo at certain points (although I wanted to).

Alas,  a date nite has come and gone.  It will not be forgotten soon :)  Now I'm off to download some Les Mis songs so I can torture my children with my singing!

Faulty Scales

So last nite, Daddy Chaos comes out of the bathroom after a shower and declares the scales are broken.

I try to claim that all the time when I gain a pound or eat nothing for an entire week (okay, slight exaggeration) and lose nothing.  No one ever believes me so I was happy to pounce on it and destroy his bubble.

"Did you gain or lose?"  I quickly asked.
 Lost.

Drama Queen and I raced to the bathroom to see who could get there first and take advantage of this scale that was now mysteriously declaring lower numbers.  Naturally I beat her, who cares if it's because she got shoved at the last minute.. That's beside the point.

I stepped onto the scales and it revealed ---  okay I'm not really telling you the number but we'll just say it's the same number I've seen for the past 2wks so nothing changed.

I walked back out and declared the scales correct and not falsely advertising mystery weight loss and then promptly asked Daddy Chaos how much he had lost.

14 lbs but I'm not sure where it went, he said as he rubbed his tummy.

I promptly hit him over the head with a skillet like he was Flynn Ryder..

I mean really?? WTH?  Who just misplaces 14lbs with no effort?  Sometimes I can't stand that man.. lol. It's good for him that I love him so much bc this crap is not to be stood for.  Geesh.

I love him, but...

I'm fairly certain that I may just murder my husband tonite.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that instead of turning me in  you will be happy to help me hide the body.

That man, bless his heart,  decided to download the newer Windows 7 instead of the XP that we had.  Something about it working better for his classes, ect..  I dunno, he was talking while I was busy and I may have tuned him out a bit like I do the kids when they all start jabbering at the same time in the car.  *ahem*

Anyway, he spent an entire evening sitting on the computer copying things onto a flash drive, putting it all on Drama Queen's laptop and moving on..  He saved all the pictures (good job!) and all the documents (yay!) but apparently my email stuff was not important.

I spent last nite at the hospital with Fishing Pole for his sleep study..  I came home this morning and had a few empty hours so I turned on the computer to check email.

Up pops this brand new look.

This is NOT what my computer looks like.

Although immediately worried, I pushed it aside and decided that  "different is good!" and I'll figure it out.

I spent all morning trying to find my beloved Outlook..  No where to be seen.

Finally I gave up and went back to checking my mail on my phone (Thank God for smart phones, yes?!!).

Surely when the dead man gets home he can find it.  I mean he's the one that hid it , right?

Uhmm, apparently no.  He was quick to download a new Outlook "type" email program for me (Windows Mail) and while I was finally able to sync my old saved email addresses , I cannot find any record of all the emails from the Outlook time period.

Kill.

I had sooo many emails saved regarding the kids.

Emails from CWs discussing cases from when they were still foster.

Emails from teachers.

Not to mention emails that I had yet to answer and emails regarding reviews I was working on.

Yes maybe I should have printed them out.. Maybe I should have saved them to a CD.. But this isn't about me..

ARGH!!

Kill.

To say I'm mildly irritated would be.. well putting it mildly.

Who wants to dig the hole and who wants to help drag the body??

Sixteen years in the blink of an eye.

Sixteen years ago, I was 18.

Sixteen years ago, Daddy Chaos was 19.

Sixteen years ago , Drama Queen was unknown to most except my seamstress who had to keep adjusting my wedding gown.

Sixteen years ago we got married.

Again..

Oh my gawd.  We were so young.. and innocent.. and probably still a bit naive. I mean geesh, look at those babies!!   Daddy Chaos had just finished tech school with the Air Force and we were about to set out to our first base- many many miles from home. We 'officially' got married in Texas while he was still in tech school at the JP in Witchita Falls after I tried to not pass out from the heat.  However, we went ahead and did a church ceremony at home with family & friends..   Over the years we debate which anniversary to celebrate.. Daddy Chaos has always been for our July date  because it's the "legal" date..  I'm all legal- smegal..  Everyone else always remembers today, the "wedding dress" date because it's what they went to.   I usually try to celebrate both :)  So I guess this is really our 32nd anniversary? LOL!

Sixteen years seems like a long time but in retrospect it's just like kids... you turn your head for a second and you're all of the sudden creeping up on 2 decades together.

This year marked another anniversary.  One that is sadly starting to become unusual in today's society.  This year, I have been with Daddy Chaos for more of my life than I've been without him.  How often do you hear that anymore?

I had breakfast with my youngest niece (18) this morning just to catch up.

As we sat there with our plates loaded down, she mentioned a conversation that she and her on again/off again boyfriend had recently had over the number of kids that we have..  Apparently he asked her what would happen if her aunt (me) & uncle ever got divorced? Who would get the kids or would we split them?   She just laughed and said "Honey, my aunt and uncle will never get divorced.. My aunt has never been with anyone but him."

Ha! I Love it.

I have been in love with my husband since I was almost Drama Queen's age.  It's hard to imagine, isn't it?

Sixteen years have went by in a flash.. Sure we have had a few rough spots here and there, what's life without a few bumps?   I could never imagine my life without him.

I'm just glad I've never had to try.

Happy "wedding dress" anniversary, my love.

A Day of Birthdays

Today is a special day.

Today marks the day that I gave birth to the last child I'd ever carry (most likely) .  The child that I would grow.. and  love.. and give birth to.. and then hand over to her parents.

Yes today is my surrogate daughter's birthday.

SEVEN years old!!

Miss Dilly is 7.  It's hard to believe so much time has passed.

Surrogacy was a wonderful experience for me.   I almost wish I could do it again.  Life is so much busier now that I'm not sure I have the time to devote now and soon I'll be too old. *sigh*

Miss Dilly's mom & I chatted last nite and recounted where we all were 7yrs ago.   You see, I was induced with her in the morning of June 11.. Dilly had other plans apparently.  She held out and held out and held out.  Until finally she was born a little after midnight, thus moving her birthday to June 12.

I'm pretty sure she knew what she was doing.. She just wanted to share her birthday with one of the most important men in my life...

Today is also his birthday :

For the record - yes those are Dimple's Phineas & Ferb sunglasses.. lol.

Daddy Chaos and I have been together for half of my life.   Yes, you read that correctly - HALF of my LIFE.  How do you top that?  Later this month we'll be at the 1/2way point and every day after that will be one more day that I have spent with him.  Very soon I'll have spent more of my life with him than without.   It boggles the mind in this day and age where everyone is divorced or not getting married until their 30's.  We have been together since we were 17 & 18.

It's no wonder I can't imagine my life without him.   He is my everything.

Happy Birthday to the Love of my Life..

How's that for sappy?  You're welcome.

Let's go back and pretend it's still Valentine's day because I never got to show you my present.  Between my computer being in the shop (Thank goodness it's back!!) and having photography issues, it was just not meant to be.

So Valentine's day dawned like any other day, I got the kids sent off to school with their goodies and spent the day as usual.  We don't make a big deal out of VDay around here. Sure I grabbed the lil kids each a cute heart Pez dispenser because it was too hard to resist.. I gave Attitude King a big box of Nerds (that I won at a MOPs  thing.. ha.. regifting at it's best) for my little nerd :)  And Drama Queen- well she already planned on doing the Bieber thing  so that counted..

[ Btw, let me jump in here and say that despite going into the movie ready to be thoroughly annoyed by a teeny bopper.... I was actually very impressed. JB is a cool kid and the show was darn close to awesome.  Plus he was an ADORABLE little tike.  O.M.G.   Drama Queen is now convinced that I must find a way to take her to a concert for her 16th bday so she can be picked to be his "Lonely girl"..]

So anyway, the kids were taken care of in the itty bitty gift department.   DaddyChaos & I don't normally exchange presents.. At All.   not for birthdays, not for anniversaries, not for Christmas.  It's always been all about the kids.

I was shocked when he texted me with a Happy Valentine's Day!!   and that pretty much made my day :)

So imagine my surprise when I arrive home from picking the kids from school only to find Daddy Chaos is already home.  I didn't think too much of it, just this is weird why is he home so early?

I get the car unloaded and am getting everyone situated -- no matter how many times we do this, I still have to tell them
"Go hang up your coats and put your backpacks away"

"No, leave your shoes by the door....

Because they're wet...

Yes they are!!

Just do what I say!!

For the love of Pete!"

So when DaddyChaos asked me to come here a minute, the thought never crossed my mind that there might be a gift involved.  You know sometimes you get that inkling that maybe there are flowers behind his back or in my case a fountain Dr Pepper??  Not even the slightest twinge of an inkling.

I followed him downstairs to the freezer & assumed we'd be picking out supper items.

Instead I found this :

I figured this was better than some sappy card.

Oh yes it was!! Bubble Gum ice cream!! 4 quarts! My favorite.. Does that man know me or what? I don't think he could have come up with a better gift =)

Not only did he buy me my favorite ice cream- he had to plan it out. He actually left work early and drove 2hrs (roundtrip) to get it for me and then beat me home so he could have it safely stored in the freezer awaiting me.
I love that man dearly.
He definitely is my other half.
Somedays I think he knows me better than I know myself.

Call me crazy..

.. but I love me a good storm.. The worse it is, the happier I am. Lucky for me, the fates must be shining down on me lately because Oh My Lordy have we been having storms.. Storm after storm after storm..

We had several over the weekend.. Sadly Daddy Chaos and I act like a bunch of hillbilly trailer trash* and immediately run outside (after herding the small ones to the safety downstairs) as soon as we heard the tornado sirens go off.  Stupid? Yes.. But we can't help ourselves.. It's how we grew up.  I remember many a storm standing in the doorway with my parents looking out.  See I'm the mean mom who makes my kids go down to the basement while I get all the fun of watching the storm.

There was a bit of swirling of clouds action going on but no tornados.. Something about the wind changing directions constantly along with a sudden 20* drop in temperature just screams Tornado weather to me.. Sirens going off help cement that thought.. Alas the news lady assured us that it was just the super high winds that were setting off the sirens not actual tornados**..   We had fun storm watching and eventually let the littles come back upstairs too.

* Daddy Chaos stands firm that although he may have lived in a trailer in his youth, he is neither a hillbilly or trailer trash & running outside to look during a storm is pure survival instinct..
**I also realize that tornados are deadly beasts and hope not to make light of any who have recently suffered damage or loss due to one.  They captivate me.

To my one and only..

It's here.. Another birthday..  God you're getting old.. ha!! Finally older than me again for another 7 months.. YES!

The kids and I were watching some old home videos the other day.. One was Attitude King's 1st birthday.. Ohh the memories.. He was the absolute cutest baby- even Drama Queen agreed to that, even though she had to throw a quick "What happened?" in.  Back in those days, you had just gotten home from a year long tour in Korea.. Just looking at you.  here. safe. with me.  made me smile.   Then you flashed the video camera to your own face and we all gasped.  Drama Queen immediately said " O.M.G!!! Daddy was so young!!"

And yes, yes you were.. Heck we both were.. 22yrs old with a 1 & 3yr old.  We were still babies ourselves.   But what I saw, was that boy.  That boy I fell in love with so many years ago.  The boy I cried over, what seems like repeatedly.  I'm a sap, what can I say.  I loved that boy with every fiber of my being..

That boy has grown and changed. Today he is all that he was and so much more. The perfect husband, most of my friends are jealous.. A wonderful father to all of our kids who I kept telling you that we weren't done just yet.. My love for you has grown .. I never thought I could love you more than I did in our younger years.. You were my whole purpose in being, which is putting a lot on one person.  We've both grown and I have learned to appreciate you even more. Watching that video has me a little sentimental, but just know that you will always be my one and only.

Happy Birthday !

** edited to add that although I had this wonderful birthday planned.. A massage (which he loved) , a babysitter set up (which shocked him) and a plan to go out on a date for the nite.. Daddy Chaos managed to move wrong and screw up his back to the point that he could barely move- which then proves my point that he's getting old.. ha.  So we stayed in and hopefully will have the date nite another nite.  He then apologized to me. Because he screwed up my plans.  Yes I was twirked, but not because of the messed up plans... Those plans were all for him.  I was twirked that he was in pain on this day that I hoped would be special...

I never did anything to it..

so I don't know why my uterus hates me so.

When I was younger (pre-kids) my uterus and I did not get along.  It sent me horrible lay in bed cramps and made me miserable every month. If I didn't always want a zillion kids I would have begged some doctor to just take the stupid thing out because it gave me nothing but problems.

Then I made peace with the monster and let it nourish 3 kiddos in the span of 9 years.  Finally we were at peace.. No more battle crys from the uterus.  Everything was hunky dory.

Then we started adopting the orphans (sorry Annie, gotta steal your terminology for a moment) and  ole Ute and I would have a few fights, nothing huge mind you- just enough for it to remind me  "Hello, still here.. USE ME!"

It's been 6years since the old beast was last used.. We have 4 new kids- none of whom it got the chance to grow.. I think  my uterus has finally come to terms with the fact that Daddy Chaos does not plan to ever again participate in helping it carry another baby nor are we making a visit to the reproductive dr to help someone else..  It's usefulness has come to an end.   This uterus will not go down without a fight.. Each month, it sends  more and more battle crys.. USE ME!! DAMN IT!! USE ME!!!!!

I'd like to publicly apologize to my poor uterus.. I would do it.. I would let you carry another baby (or two.. or three).. I'd love that.. It's all Daddy Chaos' fault.. He says we're done.  So quit putting ME thru hell.. Stop sending me migraines, cramps & for the LOVE of God quit trying to claw your way out of my body..  Go attack Daddy Chaos..  Figure it out.  Hell talk to his reproductive parts and tell them to knit back together and then you two can make babies and it's not my fault.. Otherwise bugger off..   I will find a way to shut you up and you probably wont like it..  Let's just live in peace..  please?

Mismatched pair

Daddy Chaos made bread.  When I say made bread, I mean took frozen dough out of the freezer (because where else would something frozen be, duh)... sprayed the bread pans.. placed said frozen dough into bread pans & placed in fridge overnite to dethaw.. He then baked it..  Daddy Chaos has done this many times before with never quite the above  results*..   It looks like a Daddy & baby loaf of bread.. What the heck??  It's just odd, that's all I'm saying..  completely for the record- Daddy Chaos is a wonderful cook &  has never had the misfortune to make such odd looking pairs of bread before.

For Mother's Day, I was soo nice.. I called my Momma up , told her my uterus was completely trying to kill me and on top of that I had this stupid cold in which I coughed so hard that I not only vomited & saw stars.. but I also got a bloody nose- all from one cough. I kid you not.  Once she recovered from that story telling - OMG, what if you had been driving, that cough does not sound very safe, how can you almost pass out from a cough?-  I totally played on her sympathies & rather than get her something (because dude, I totally let her have her pick of my Vera Stash) I begged her to make me some homemade noodles.. It worked.. She made me noodles- which I then cooked & promised leftovers (I'm not that bad of a daughter, I would have had her over for supper but hello I'm sick.. We tend to try to keep cooties away from Dad).  So Daddy's breads- although looking mighty funny, tasted great with my Mother's Day dinner.

*Silly man thought I'd come on here, make fun of his loafs & then just leave him hanging like a guy who just can't cook.  He can totally cook- he just likes to hide the fact so I dont make him do it more often!

Just a quickie

I'm working on a post about our trip to that far away state & the finalization of Southern Darlin's adoption.. These things, they take some time.

In the meantime a little quickie for ya :

Overheard at lunch (in a restaurant, mind you) today~

Daddy Chaos : No Blowing !! *

Immediately followed by :

Daddy Chaos:  Omg, I cannot believe those words just came out of my mouth.  Dang baby.

You see, The Toddler has discovered the joy of blowing bubbles into his cups. He has quite a gust of wind that child. The drink tends bubble out the lid and all over the place..  Regardless, yet another thing that made someone say something they never thought they would.

*I never claimed the Kingdom of Chaos was 'G' rated.. Our minds tend to be in the gutter more often then not :)

Chaotic Week..

What a week.. It doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Drool Prince is going thru an asthma flare. We went to Yellow Level (nebs every 4 hrs, doubling regular maintenance meds)  for several days with no change.  Finally we got some lovely oral steriods and we're finally kicking it's butt! Thank goodness!! He's been going thru one of his I'm.A.Crazy.Boy.Who.Cannot.Behave.For.Even.One.Second phase so the steriods don't really help that but it can't be helped.

You remember how I told you that The Toddler decided to toss his cookies all over me? Thankfully that lasted only a day or two but then Spoiled Princess started in with it. Thank the fates that she can make it to the bathroom (uhmm except when Daddy Chaos insisted she was better and just needed fresh air in the mode of a car ride sans puke bucket  & she christened her carseat thoroughly). Unfortunately Spoiled Princess' illness went on for several days & her tummy really hurwt.   So we took her to the dr who then proclaimed that child was soo full of crap her eyes should have been brown.  Lovely. Now I feel like a crappy mom b/c geez who doesn't know their child is constipated?  Although I will defend myself by saying - hello, she wipes her own butt.. It's not like a have a Poo chart for everyone to mark when they go.. lol..  So Spoiled Princess has been drinking mineral oil all week trying to empty herself out some.  Poor kid!

Daddy Chaos also went to the dr this week.  I'm a mean Momma and made him go- which is exactly what he told the dr when asked why he was there.  You see, Daddy Chaos has been having chest pains, some dizziness and I decided ENOUGH.. We have too many kids for him to just drop over dead so he was going to the darn dr.  Which is basically what he told the dr.. I'm a meanie.   The good news is that the EKG came back normal.  Dr is hoping it's just esophageal spasms and not heart related at all but he's going to run some more tests next week.  Good, I feel better.

What a week!! And then it only gets worse.. Gpa Chaos is in the hospital.... I am running out of time & Gpa's story is way too long so I'll post it again soon.. Prayers for him are needed though!

At last! Picture to amaze you :)

At last!!  Remember way back ohhh say LAST YEAR when Daddy Chaos began the great Light Improvement?  I'm pretty sure I mentioned it a time or two that one light went up , another went down & I was left with an empty spot & hanging wires for ohhh, I dunno, a year & 13days.

I would like to present you with this ::

Yes you have it! We have a light again! :) Yay Daddy Chaos* !   I wont even mention the other light that hasn't come down yet to be replaced because I am 100% happy to have this one :)

*Daddy Chaos would like me to remind everyone that Hello, he has a BACK issue and did have SURGERY which is why he did not get the light fixed. He did finally fix it despite the possibility of re-injuring himself so Momma would quit nagging & talking about it on her blog and making him sound like a lazy ass white trash husband.

** Lest you think I say this in all seriousness, please know that Daddy Chaos is absolutely 100% awesome. I just like to tease & give him a hard time.. most of the time :)

Things I am not planning on talking about

I have tons to talk about but no time to actually sit down and give the detail each thing deserves so here is a quick version of things I would have blogged about but just dont have time right now :

1. I am not going to talk about how Baby Bug has swine flu h1n1 right now.. Although he's finally starting to recover, the diapers are still very swineish if you know what I mean. EWW.

2. I am not going to talk about how Daddy Chaos is still alive despite being home on disability for 3wks now. Yeah, I know .. I'm surprised too! Dr says he will live and really go back to work !!! in 2 wks... if he survives those two weeks.

3. I am not going to talk about how certain people *cough*DaddyChaos*cough* have been home too long when they are now quoting Phinneas & Ferb on a daily basis.  Don't get me wrong, it is my Favorite cartoon but still..

4. I am not going to talk about the fact that rumor has it our TPR verdict is in but not read yet.

5. I most certainly am not going to talk about /rant & rave about the fact that #4 is driving me absolutely insane.  Some things are better to not know if you dont know the complete story.

6.  I am not going to talk about a situation that may or may not happen next month. It's one of those that you try to plan for but if it doesn't happen you don't want to be too disappointed. kwim?

7. Lastly I am not going to talk about how Daddy Chaos will not quit reading over my shoulder and trying to "help" me.  Dude, get your own blog and leave mine the heck alone!

Dreams

Is it odd that I dreamt of alligators getting into the house  & trying to eat us last nite?

Even odder to me that I would constantly awaken myself from the dream when it got too scary only to fall asleep again and be right back in the same spot! Grrr!

The worst of all is that Daddy Chaos was not in bed beside me. So when I'd wake up and want to smack him for being all stupid in the dream and trying to convince me that we should catch and release this monster alligator who kept trying to eat my kids instead of shoot the sucker with a big ole shotgun that mysteriously appeared.  I totally would have smacked his butt awake had he been there.

Alas, Daddy Chaos is still recovering from his back surgery.  I KNOW! Still? geesh, it's been almost a week already. pansy!  Until he learns how to bend w/o feeling like his back will split back open, he cannot sleep in our bed (waterbed- too low).

Normally I wouldn't mind quite so much the big ole bed being sans Daddy Chaos. I mean sure I like to snuggle with him but quite honestly the minute he gets out of bed to head to work, I stretch out and sigh.. FREEDOM..  However, since Daddy Chaos couldn't sleep with me, he had to find a new bed to sleep in.  Drama Queen's bed works well- no stairs, full size, flowery comforter to make him feel at home.  The drawback to that is that DRAMA QUEEN is now sleeping with me.  I haven't slept with that girl in a good 12yrs.  It's no wonder I'm dreaming about alligators thrashing around.

UGH! Send some quick healing vibes for Daddy Chaos.  I need that girl OUT of my bed ASAP!  On a good note, tomorrow's Friday and I am soo kicking her booty to the couch for the weekend :)

He's home !

As I mentioned yesterday , Daddy Chaos underwent back surgery today. Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers! We appreciated them!!

Naturally I took some pics to share :) Daddy Chaos is trying to claim this is his "halloween costume" but I think he liked wearing the 'pantyhose' just a little bit too much.

Pre-op picture time! Look at those legs.. ohhh la la! Sorry ladies, all mine! Ohh and Daddy would like to note that the socks (which I did not capture well- sorry!) are completely idiot proof as the tread is on top AND bottom. So you can't put them on upside down although we did decide if you tried hard enough, you could probably put them on sideways?

While Daddy was in surgery, I sat in the waiting room .

I drank a Starbucks hot chocolate which was not very chocolatey.. Color me disappointed.

I ate the most awesomest breakfast sandwich (at less than $2) which sufficiently clogged my arteries & add 2lbs of plumpness I did not need but was soooo worth it. Let me just say - english muffin, cheese, HUGE pile of bacon, cheese, egg, cheese , english muffin- ALL toasted and o.m.G!!

Anyway where was I? Oh yeah.. Daddy's surgery. They had this uber (it needs the little dots over the u but who knows how to do that?) cool screen which had your name in secret agent code. For example DC's was " CH, RD" ( Chaos, R? Daddy) and it would show your loved ones (me) where you were in the procedure. So if you were in the operating room it'd have the time you went back BUT if the surgery had actually started then there was a little surgeon face w/ mask on it. If they were closing up, there was a little scar w/stitches, if you were in recovery there was a bandaid. Anyhoo I was impressed and kept trying to get discreet pictures but the dang monitor was really high on the wall and it was impossible to get a picture w/o holding your camera up and taking a very obvious picture. Which seemed kinda weird to me. Don't judge me, I got up at 3am- maybe I was paranoid.

So surgery went well. The super secret highly popular surgeon seems to think that perhaps he's a bit too busy and important to actually meet with the family face to face after surgery. Instead I was sent to a room and did a VIDEO conference with the man who was in the SAME BUILDING as me.. Honestly? End result- surgery went great. Daddy Chaos' nerve was squished flatter than a pancake (he repeated this multiple times which leads me to believe it will become one of those stories " I had this patient once who's nerve was squished flatter than a pancake!") so he fixed it all & due to Daddy's youthful age he feels everything will repair itself. Yay Daddy!

Riding home sleeping. This picture is much prettier than the one of him w/ his mouth hanging open. Plus I highly doubt he'd let me post drool. Still see those hands? Yup, those belong to me too.. Sorry ladies!

We are home now, safely sleeping on the couch. The front pillow is my sacrifice to try and make Daddy a little safer from the monster Baby Bug. He's only been hit with a shoe once so far so I think we're doing good!

Vibrating Nuts...

Soo, I had this whole post thought out- complete with pictures- about our very talented local squirrel .. It was going to be good and cute- Mr Squirrel posed and everything. But then we went to bed last nite and it happened....

**Warning, not exactly child appropriate**

Daddy Chaos (DC)- Hmmm.. my nuts are vibrating.

Me- *chokes on own saliva* WHAT?

DC- yeah, well I noticed it upstairs earlier but it went away. It feels like I'm sitting on my phone while it's on vibrate.

Me- *snorts* I'll totally google that tomorrow for you but good God can you imagine the porn sites that are going to pop up? I mean honestly, who says their nuts are vibrating?

DC- I wonder if you can feel it on the outside? Wanna try?

Me- *laughs* uhmm no thanks hun. You go right ahead and let me know. I do need all the facts for my blog google research, ya know.

DC- You are totally going to blog about this aren't you?

Me- uhm DUH.. Think of the views I'm going to get when people start searching Vibrating Nuts. Come ON! You totally just outdid the super agent squirrel. You should be proud :)

*** I did try to convince him that perhaps it's his lovely little parts trying to unsnip themselves. It has been 6yrs since the big snipperoo.. He wasn't happy with that theory but come on, how many people can say their testicles vibrate? So now I"m off to google "vibrating nuts".. wish me luck.. LMAO!

In other news..

..we are a houseful of sickies.

Drama Queen had a birthday party over the weekend. She was perfectly healthy when I dropped her off around 1pm on Saturday. When I picked her up at 2pm Sunday- quite frankly the kid looked like she'd been partying with the wrong crowd. Eyes red & watery, nose congested & a cough. LOVELY... She came home and went right to bed not to be heard from again except to ask for meds (fever popped up) and then back to bed. She woke up Monday morning feeling better and off to school she went. Still a tiny cough but she's not complaining of anything else. Honestly Im not really sure if she's feeling 100% better or just faking feeling better b/c she wants to keep her perfect attendance (geek!).

Spoiled Princess was not to be left out. She developed this lovely cough that sounded like she was on her last lung ~ ironically also on Sunday. The kid was pathetic. I guess I should be thanking my lucky stars that she doesn't get sick very often because quite frankly I'd have traded her off by now or went completely insane. Off to the dr she went on Monday, only to be dx w/ a "nasty" ear infection (hmm, never once complained about her ear hurting?) and the starts of bronchitis. Antibiotics & some cough meds w/ narcotics in them are making her a much happier little girl.

Daddy Chaos woke up Saturday and was in pain. Lord only knows what he did but he's messed his back up again. He got to go to the dr with Spoiled Princess on Monday as well.. He got some steriods, better pain pills and a MRI.. Keeping fingers crossed that we aren't headed for surgery again (last one was in 2002) but if we are- I hope it gets done ASAP!

What is it with everyone having something at once? So far the boys & I are healthy so that's good right?!
