The week with no sleep

Life is crazy and with the transfer (surrogacy), Christmas, 2birthdays and a Disney trip all this month - I just don't see it getting any less crazy! lol!

We had a very busy week last week.  Dimples has been having some urology issues and so we went back to urology at the Big Hospital last Thursday.  It was an all day thing. First I ran to town A for my lining and bloodwork (surrogacy), then turned and headed 3hrs south to go to the Big Hospital appt.  Needless to say we were gone from 9am-9pm.  It was a long day.   Only to be repeated on Friday with all three boys going to pulmonary/sleep apnea dr at the Big Hospital. At least we got a good report on pulmonary- only one kiddos (Fishing Pole) has gotten worse on their asthma. The other two are looking a lot better! yay!

I'm tired.  Tired of driving and tired of eating out.  I bet you  never thought you'd hear me say that but honestly after eating out a few times in a row, I just want to be home and cook my own food. and SLEEP.

The only advantage of going TWICE in one week to the Big Hospital is that we got to see their very BIG tree.

Saturday - quite honestly I can't even remember what we did on Saturday. I can tell you that we did NOT decorate our Christmas tree and let me tell you that Elfie the Elf (our Elf on a Shelf - new this year, thanks to Cowie) is NOT happy about our lack of decorating.

Exhibit #1 that Elfie is unhappy with us.  He decided to string the lights himself. Too bad it didn't work out quite the way he thought..  See, I'm partially decorated- I have the trees OUT. That has to count for something.. right?

Exhibit #2 that Elfie is unhappy with us.  I moved the tree to the correct location but again that's all I got done.  :sigh:  Maybe he's really just unhappy that the kids named him ELFIE .  For the love of all that is Christmas, could they not have agreed on a better name. I guess it is better than DOM, which was one child's suggestion.  Sorry, I'm not combining 50Shades with my Christmas Elfie.. That's just wrong on soo many levels.

Sunday was a day that blessed me with a migraine.  On the day that we had a family Christmas party.. ugh.

So needless to say, Sunday night came not soon enough for anyone.  Anyone except Dimples.  When I told him it was bedtime, he immediately got a 'woe is me' look on his face and... well here's our conversation:

Dimples :  Momma, I so sick.
Me:  You are? You just have a sniffly nose.
Dimples: I cough alll day long.
Me: Oh my. I didn't hear you cough all day.
Dimples:  I have fever !!
Me: Oh my, a cough and a fever.  Maybe we should stay home from school tomorrow, what do you think?
Dimples:   Yes. I soo sick.

And so it starts. In KINDERGARTEN.  My child is already perfecting the art of playing sick.  Note- He completely forgot about his deathly sickness this morning and off to school he went happily.  Ha.  He's so darn cute.

In the eyes of a preschooler..

It's it funny sometimes, how our children see us?   This year for Mother's day I got lots of homemade gifts from the little ones!  Love them! :)  One of my favorites (b/c I laughed so much from it.. lol) was Dimples though..   I thought I'd share it with you today.

This is me.   It's a bit hard to tell but he put little earrings in my ears- I guess to make a statement that I was female because you can't quite tell otherwise.  I rarely wear earrings.   Obviously the day they did this project, I was wearing a green shirt - again I only have 1 green shirt and it's not a color I wear often.. However, I absolutely love that I have not only a nose and mouth but red glasses (yes I do have red glasses)!  I am a bit, however, concerned about my basically bald head with only some bangs.. I'm still trying to figure out if perhaps I am completely bald with really bushy eyebrows or just mostly bald with some combed forward bangs??

Either way, the best part was the back..  Where they have sentences for the kids to finish.. lol.

 My Mom is Special !

1. My Mom is special because she gave me a blue police car.

2. My Mom is as pretty as a the United States of America.

3. What outfit do you think looks best on your Mom?  her green shirt

4. How many pairs of shoes does your Mom have? 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5

5. What is the best thing that she cooks for you? corn dogs

6. What does your Mom like to do for fun ? go to bed in the morning

7. My Mom can do many things!  I think she's best at watching T.V.

8. My Mom has a pretty smile!  I like to make her smile by playing dress-up

9. My Mom is smart!  She even knows how to use the phone.

Bless that child.. He's lucky I love him so much, since he pretty much made me sound like some slacker ass drunk mom who parties all nite, falls in bed in the morning & watches tv all day while feeding my kid corn dogs.. But hey, at least I know how to use a phone :)  LOL!

From the youngest to the oldest there was quite a difference.   This was the first year that Drama Queen had a job and bought me Mother's Day presents with her own money.  It somehow made it just a bit more special that she was willing to spend her money on me.   I had more of a Mother's Day week as she kept leaving me little cute notes w/ goodies attached through out the house.

Goodie # 1.   - left on my pillow one nite.

I love chewy sweetarts !  Especially the purple & pink ones.. I was nice enough to share the yellow and green though. lol.

Goodie #2.  - left on the dash of my car, found it early in the morning when I got in to take Dimples to the Children's hospital for yet another appt.

hmmm.. I Love me some twix!

Goodie # 3. -  left on my nightstand .

Mother's Day morning - she had to work, but I woke up to find a box with a lovely Mom necklace in it and another note.   Loved it.

What's in a name:?

It's been a long summer full of surgeries and recoveries.. We are still in recovery for Attitude King (adenoids & imtc - nose cauterizing to make the airway larger).  Dimples has a sinus infection which means he cries when he should be sleeping & also has been constantly clearing his throat for the past few weeks which is quite frankly driving me insane..  It pretty much makes me feel stabby which is why I haven't been here talking about it.. lol.

So I've neglected you guys for a while because when you have nothing good or exciting to say, what's the point in talking?

School starts in a week and I'm hoping that we can put the long summer behind us and get back to life :)

For today, I need your help.  I need you to give me name ideas for our newest family member.

Our sweet princess
Meet our new Shorkie puppy (shih tzu/ yorkie).   Technically we don't have her yet and have a full month til she's old enough to come home but that doesn't stop me from making list after list of names and driving Daddy Chaos completely insane asking him if he likes this name or that one? lol.

So throw out some ideas..
For extra help- she's a girl (obviously), she should mature around 6lbs, she's all black with a tiny patch of white under her chin.. Yorkies originate in England & Shih Tzu's were royal dogs in China.

Our Lab is named Kida (from the cartoon Atlantis), our cat is Isabella /Izzy (named b/c if I had another girl I would have named her Isabella), a previous cat was Leloo (named from movie 5th Element).   I like all kinds of names.. I'm just having a hard time finding the PERFECT one..

So come up with some names for me.. I may or may not pick from here, I just need lots of ideas!! If  I do choose your name, I'll send you a little something :)

Names we have come up with so far :
Ellie Mae
Baby
Baby Girl
Princess / Duchess Mu Shu
Sassy
Jasmine /Jazzy
Sophie

Give it your best shot!! I have a month til I pick her up but the name is driving me crazy :)

Whoring it..

I've taken to writing down little things the kids say that I find adorable but know with time I will completely screw up when I try to tell them in my old age.  Heck I lost my phone today and that thing is usually attached to my body in some way!   (No worries, it was found and returned safe & sound- if a bit cold.)  Soo, I thought I'd share a few with you :)  I'm nice and sharing like that..

Dimples is finally opening up and talking more.. He rarely has conversations yet but when he says something that is completely appropriate for the situation- I LOVE IT!!

#1. At the dr's office last month,  Fishing Pole said " Dimples, look at this!!" and showed him a toy.  Dimples immediately smiled and said "Oh that is soo cool Fishing Pole!"     I about burst into tears.  A complete sentence that was appropriate for the situation!  AND he actually listened to Fishing Pole and responded.. YAY!!

#2. Just a little something that I love - Dimples was never one of those babies that would raise their arms up when they wanted picked up and say "Up!" .  Usually when we go somewhere I will always hold my arms down to him and say "Do you want to walk or do you want me to carry you?"    Lately he'll come up to me, raise his arms up and say " I carry you?"    love it.

#3.  Way back when Drama Queen was about 1 (omg she's going to be 16 very soon, there is a countdown calendar currently on the fridge.. ugh) I left her at my house with a friend while Daddy Chaos & I went to Bingo on base.. I had never left her before and thought I went over every single thing that said friend would need to know.  About 30mins later, she calls and says "Drama Queen is fine, but she keeps walking around saying GUNK. I don't know what Gunk is and she wants it.. HELP!"..  When I finally quit laughing I was able to tell her the very important thing I had forgotten-- Gunk =Milk.   Drama Queen liked to invent her own words sometimes..

#4.  About a week ago (yes, I wrote the entire conversation in my planner.. lol),  Drama Queen and I were sitting on the couch.. The kids were across the room at the toy box.  We kept hearing Fishing Pole say something that we just couldn't quite make out..

Fishing Pole: (playing with tea set) Pour.. pour.. pour..
Drama Queen: Is he saying whore?  Listen to him!  It sounds like he's saying :Whore, whore, whore!
Me :  No, I don't think he's saying that.. Where would he even hear that ?

Fishing Pole: pour.. pour.. pour it.. (pours pretend tea into cup)
Me:  POUR!   He said POUR it!
Drama Queen: oooh..  Well it sounded like Whore it.
Me:  What does that even mean?
Drama Queen:  You know.. like free-balling it.. Whoring it..

OMG!! LOL!  I couldn't stop the laughter.. Where the heck did she even hear the term Free-balling it.. LOL!  I tell you , highschool is not what it was when I was in school.. Or I hung in the wrong crowds.. lol!.

Cute Moment Alert !

Why is it that cute moments are almost always either immediately following or preceding a rotten moment?  It must just be the nature of the beast kid.  Today seems like the day to share some cute moments, maybe because my uterus is once again seeking revenge upon me for unknown atrocities and I need to remind it that "Hey kids are cute, you did good!" even if it didn't pop out the ones I'm talking about, it's the general idea.*

Drool Prince just folded a towel (a towel, it should be noted, that was placed on the couch to soak up where he decided to lay and pee all over. Yuck. Noted, lest you think he was actually playing with Clean things.) into a triangle.

He then announced Mommy! I made a TRIANGLE!

Yes you sure did!  So proud of that little booger.. I don't know about you but in my infinite experience Triangle is just not a shape that preschoolers pick up quickly, let alone set about creating them with peed on towels and pride.   Obviously the rotten moment was a preceding one where he decided that for no reason other than perhaps he was a bit pissed at Momma, he should lay on the couch and soak it with his lovely urine.  Thanks.

~*~*~*~*~*~

TheToddler has this habit of becoming a cat.  Randomly he will just start meowing. Then he rubs on you and wants you to pet his head.  It's adorable even if I do worry that he's going to want to start eating out of bowls on the floor.

Naturally he has realized that we all find this cute as heck and has started to do it when he knows we're going to yell at him..

Like when he decides that it's great fun to spit his drink on his shirt, his brother's head and my couch. On purpose.  Simply because he rolls like that.  And then meows and gives that innocent look.. It's like kicking a puppy (or kitten in this case) to yell at him.

 ~*~*~*~*~*~
In other news, I'm totally rocking this NaBloPoMo so far.. Yeah, so it's only day 3 but I'm sticking with it and that's something!  I've also been over at the Review Blog a bit this past week. Go check out the books, reviews and a Celebration Adoption Fund update ! :)

*I'd like to accept the award now for the longest run-on sentence in my blog thus far.  Thank you, without my rambling ability I'd never be able to make sentences have absolutely no structure and run-on forever.
