What's in a name?

This is exactly why I begged and begged Daddy Chaos to let me name Dimples  "Luke".

He's so mean, he completely refused..  Come on, Luke/Darth jokes never get old.. lol..   Bully man.

Whoring it..

I've taken to writing down little things the kids say that I find adorable but know with time I will completely screw up when I try to tell them in my old age.  Heck I lost my phone today and that thing is usually attached to my body in some way!   (No worries, it was found and returned safe & sound- if a bit cold.)  Soo, I thought I'd share a few with you :)  I'm nice and sharing like that..

Dimples is finally opening up and talking more.. He rarely has conversations yet but when he says something that is completely appropriate for the situation- I LOVE IT!!

#1. At the dr's office last month,  Fishing Pole said " Dimples, look at this!!" and showed him a toy.  Dimples immediately smiled and said "Oh that is soo cool Fishing Pole!"     I about burst into tears.  A complete sentence that was appropriate for the situation!  AND he actually listened to Fishing Pole and responded.. YAY!!

#2. Just a little something that I love - Dimples was never one of those babies that would raise their arms up when they wanted picked up and say "Up!" .  Usually when we go somewhere I will always hold my arms down to him and say "Do you want to walk or do you want me to carry you?"    Lately he'll come up to me, raise his arms up and say " I carry you?"    love it.

#3.  Way back when Drama Queen was about 1 (omg she's going to be 16 very soon, there is a countdown calendar currently on the fridge.. ugh) I left her at my house with a friend while Daddy Chaos & I went to Bingo on base.. I had never left her before and thought I went over every single thing that said friend would need to know.  About 30mins later, she calls and says "Drama Queen is fine, but she keeps walking around saying GUNK. I don't know what Gunk is and she wants it.. HELP!"..  When I finally quit laughing I was able to tell her the very important thing I had forgotten-- Gunk =Milk.   Drama Queen liked to invent her own words sometimes..

#4.  About a week ago (yes, I wrote the entire conversation in my planner.. lol),  Drama Queen and I were sitting on the couch.. The kids were across the room at the toy box.  We kept hearing Fishing Pole say something that we just couldn't quite make out..

Fishing Pole: (playing with tea set) Pour.. pour.. pour..
Drama Queen: Is he saying whore?  Listen to him!  It sounds like he's saying :Whore, whore, whore!
Me No, I don't think he's saying that.. Where would he even hear that ?

Fishing Pole: pour.. pour.. pour it.. (pours pretend tea into cup)
Me:  POUR!   He said POUR it!
Drama Queen: oooh..  Well it sounded like Whore it.
Me:  What does that even mean?
Drama Queen:  You know.. like free-balling it.. Whoring it..

OMG!! LOL!  I couldn't stop the laughter.. Where the heck did she even hear the term Free-balling it.. LOL!  I tell you , highschool is not what it was when I was in school.. Or I hung in the wrong crowds.. lol!.

Flub ups make me giggle

I don't know about you but I am still immersed in the land of diapers..

Dimples is not developmentally at an age that we can start potty training yet, although every once in a while he announces "I dough Poddy!!" and he actually goes... for the most part, he doesn't recognize it at all.

I've been thru a lot of different diapers but Huggies Supreme are my favorites :)   So when the new Slip-On diapers came out I was excited!   Yay! Diapers that pull on?!    Pull ups do not work on Dimples because they are designed with potty training kiddos in mind and don't hold the sheer amount of pee this boy dishes out.   Slip-Ons ?  They are like pull ups but with the capacity of a DIAPER!   Score! I knew I loved Huggies for a reason = )

Still, I'm cheap and I will only buy them if I have a coupon (or two) because you get less slip ons than regular diapers for the same price.

A few weeks back CVS had a sale on them , I had a CVS coupon AND a manufacture coupon (CVS alert- they let you use BOTH .. Love them!).  Sadly, I didn't get any that day because all they had left were a size 3 & Dimples is in a size 4.   But as I looked at the packaging I got a little giggle..

Here, look for yourself and see if you catch it.

Did you see it?    Probably not because it's not zoomed in enough..  Let me show you another picture :

Yes, both are size 3 diapers.. I took a picture of two different packages to be able to show you the front & side but it was like this on every pack of diapers..   Look closely at the size they are saying is a size 3.  (Click on the picture for a larger view).

The front says 16-28lbs.

The side says 22-37 lbs.

Again both are a size 3.

Me thinks someone is the proofreading department at Huggies was taking a nap the day those packages printed.. lol!!    I thought someone else might get the giggle as well.    Hey Huggies- I'm free to check these for you anytime :-)

*Aside-  I know many of my readers are parents are of special needs kids.. In case you didn't already know- if your child is over the age of 3 and not potty trained (for medical reasons- developmental delay, whatnot..) and you have medicaid--- Medicaid will cover your diapers!  Your local medical supply store will ship them directly to your door on a monthly basis.  In our experience it's always been name brand (huggies Pull Ups & now huggies diapers (reg. not supreme)).  We still buy overnights because Dimples is has lots of pee issues at nite time and for now our medical supply store only has GoodNites which are way too big for him.. Just wanted to share for those that might not be taking advantage of this.. Diapers are so expensive, especially if you have a child that might wear them for quite a long time past the normal expected range.

Reminder--  Don't forget about my fabulous book giveaway.. Even if you don't particularly want the book (hello- why would you even think that? It's an AWESOME book!), remember that it also enters you to win the big Book Tour prize ($40 in gift cards and you can give me the signed book copies!lol) .  So go enter today! Open til the end of the month ! And yes, I will be reminding you at EVERY Post until it's over with, so just do it already! = )

Just for giggles

Random little things in the house have made me giggle today.  First we have the 12yr old & 4yr old arguing :

4yr old: You're stupid.
12yr old: So what. You're stupider.
4yr old:  nuh uh.. You're stupider-er.
12yr old: No, you're stupider.
4yr old:  I'm going to wish you were a poopie head.
12yr old:  So what, I don't have to wish it. You ARE a poopie head.

Boys, boys, boys.. Oh well, thanks for the giggle.
~*~*~*~*~*~
In the car, Drama Queen is telling me about a book she read.  She's recently discovered Jude Deveraux (who is tame enough in the *cough* sex*cough* department to be allowable for an almost 15yr old to read) and is quickly going thru her entire collection.  The girl is soo smart but just like her Momma, she has her blonde moments.   Today just happened to be one of them..

DQ:  So the main guy was Scottish, so he was from Ireland right?

After I finished snorting pop out of my nose, she quickly realized that that wasn't right.

Momma: No my dear, Scottish = Scotland,  Irish= Ireland.. and just so you know, I am soo  blogging about this!
