I love reading! I'm a bookaholic. In those little questionaires that ask "what do you like to do in your free time" , after I finishing laughing at the mere thought of *free time*, I always reply READ.. Curl up in bed with a good book and I'm in Heaven.
Naturally I have a very large stash of books, which I like to read over and over. I've tried hard to curb my expenditures on books (if you saw my piles, you'd understand.. It's out of control. Kinda like FosterMama's daughter's closet ) and so I go to the library when I can sneak out. Sneak being the key word b/c this Momma ain't taking 5 kids to the library! No way, No how, nuh-uh!
I made it to the library earlier this week with just Drama Queen in tow. She went off on her search & I went on mine. We met back at the check-out desk each with their own pile of books- Drama Queen= 2, Momma Chaos=7. Now granted my library time is very limited, so I tend to go to the new book section, then my fav. authors & grab what looks interesting. Unforunately this is an iffy way to book shop. I got home and grabbed a book off the top of my pile to start reading.. 5 pages into it and I"m thinking "hmm, this seems familar" By the end of the first chapter, I have realized that yes Indeed! I have read this book already! UGH!!
This trip I ended up with 2 books that I know I've read before and 1 that I'm unsure of but if I did, it was long enough ago that I dont recall the fine details.
Soo this post was born. I've decided that I really need to keep track of the books I've read so I will quit re-renting them from the library or even worse- double buying them (that rarely happens! only once or twice?!). And so you have it... books I've read from 2/19/09 and forward :
Naughty Neighbor by Janet Evanovich (re-rented.. oops)
Accidentally Yours by Susan Mallery (re-rented.. oops again)
Dangerous by Nora Roberts ( one of those compiled books of her older series.. Might have read since I tend to read and own all NR but I am not recalling the exact storyline so I'm re-reading :) **edited to note that I read the first book and knew less than halfway thru that I had already read this one, but I was at that point where I couldn't just put it down and quit?!**
Hokus Pokus by Fern Michaels
At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks (love his work!)
Everything But a Bride by Holly Jacobs (new author to me)
Everything But a Wedding by Holly Jacobs
Haha girl you sooooooo sound like me!! Although I'm crazy enough to go to the library w/ all the kids.
ReplyDeleteHey do you have any of the Quinn brother series from NR? I've read the first 2, but have not been able to find the last 2 ANYWHERE.
You'd think with as many libraries as there are around here, they would surface.
Next time you are RH, we should meet up and swap books haha. I have tons and tons too. Same problem with the 'rereading'.
**Glad I was FINALLY able to get in to the site!**
