Graco® gave me the chance to test out one of their brand new carseats- the Graco® SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 and boy did we have fun! The Click Connect™ 40 is an infant car seat (the only one!) that provides rear-facing protection from birth -2 years, as is now recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. There are so many things I loved about this car seat, it's hard for me to shorten it into decent review. Let's just hit the highlights -
- 4-40 pound weight limit ~ a full 2 years = I love that someone has finally thought enough to come out with an infant car seat that will go to the full 2years of age. Although the AAP has only recently changed it's recommendation to keeping your children rear-facing to at least 2years, it's been widely know that you should rear-face as long as possible. It's simply safer. Don't make me break out the youtube videos because you don't want to see , just trust me on this one. I know many parents who have good intentions but once their baby outgrows the infant seat and they see how bulky a convertible car seat can be rear-facing, they simply turn them around for convenience. I am hopeful that having seats like the SnugRide® Click Connect™40 will help more kids stay rear-facing longer.
- Base adjusts with 8 recline positions for the most leg room of any rear-facing carseat = simply put, the baby is more comfortable for longer. No more of the worries/complaints that you can't leave your child rear-facing because they "don't fit". Yes they do. I have Miss X (1yr later this month) who is an itty bitty thing in the seat right now. We have it set at a 4 recline and there is plenty of room for her. I also tried Dimples (4yrs , 32lbs) in it just for giggles and he actually fits at the 8 recline comfortably and wanted me to let him have it.. HA! Sorry dude, you are a smidge too tall for the harness.
- The Simple Safe Adjust™ harness system allows parents to adjust the harness and headrest w/ just one hand. = Gone are the days of taking apart the entire car seat to adjust the straps just because your kiddo finally grew that tiny bit that threw him into the next slot on the car seat. I LOVE this option. Not only are you adjusting the harness but also the headrest (safety surround, people.. love it) with one hand. Honestly, I feel like you get a better fit with this option. The convenience of it all is just the cherry on top.
Now that you have watched the video (you did watch the video, right?) and heard my thoughts on this amazing new car seat, you are dying to get one yourself.. Right?
The Graco® SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 is available online and in stores at Babies R Us. They are retailing for $219, which quite frankly seems like a pretty good deal to me. However, since I love you all so much and Graco® is an awesome host- I'm giving one away here on the blog!

ReplyDeleteI hope I did this raffle thing correctly. I'm a foster parent and this seat would be so awesome to have since I never know what age of kiddo I'm going to be hauling around!

When my daughter was little the recommendations were rear til a year so that's how long we kept her rear facing. That truly was a struggle too because she was huge and had to sit cross legged in order to fit! I can't imagine how on earth I would have kept her rear until 2 years old. I can't wait to see this new carseat and how it accomplishes this feat.

I turned my oldest at one year. I didn't know any better then. I plan to keep this little one rear until at least age two, longer even if possible.
ReplyDeleteMy best friend and honorary sister just had her first baby and I'd love to win this for her!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is 11 months old & we're expecting another baby in January. I plan to keep them both rear facing as long as we can, minimum 2 years. I also have 3 big girls who are now 11, 9 & 7 years old. From what I can remember, they were only rear facing in their baby bucket seat, which I think we switched them out of at 1.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 at one year but the 3rd we might keep rear longer and have even thought about putting our youngest 1.5 yrs rear again
ReplyDeleteMy son is 22 months and still rear-facing. We plan to switch him after his 2nd birthday :)

as long as recommended
ReplyDeleteuntil age 2
ReplyDeleteI kept my oldest daughter rear facing as long as she fit in her carseat so about 17 months, but my second daughter is much more petit so she'll stay rearfacing longer.
ReplyDeleteI plan to keep my son rear facing for over a year.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to rear face until a minimum of 2 but hopefully longer. I would love this seat for rear facing past 1, and for the ease of still being able to carry it into the house if need be.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be keeping my daughter rear-facing until she's 2, possible longer. No reason to have her be less safe!
ReplyDeleteWith my older 2, I turned them just past 1. I don't know what I'll do with this one - I may go longer with two older kids to tell me what the child is doing, which is what I hate about rear-facing, I can't glance quickly and see what is going on!
ReplyDeleteKept mine till one, but that was the recommendation then :)
ReplyDeleteAs long as the pediatrician tells me to - I am a rule follower :)
ReplyDeleteFor a year, theoretically - but she's already grown out of the infant one and we're not even at ten months yet!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and giveaway! I plan to keep my child rear faced for as long as possible! It really varies with each child! I'm expecting, this is a wonderful giveaway, thanks for the opportunity.

My daughter is very petite, so I think she will be comfortable rear facing till at least 2. I don't really have a definite age set in stone.

my name is julie and i just resently had my fouth baby clarie and iam so big on the rear facing untel they are 2 years if age. I would love to get one of these for my baby just so i would have the peace of mind that she was more safe in my car. when my therd chid was three moths old we had an acedent and the told me that the car seat that i had was not god for a child her size because she was so smal at her age and i had her in an big rear facing that the helth department give me so it was not safe for her and that was a big reality check for me so it would be grat not having to worrie about that this time around with claire. If you are wondering if my threed child got hurt in the acident no that god but it was just scary to that that she could because of her car seat.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to keep my longer baby backwards longer! This seat seems to have it all and I would love to own one.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter I switched at a year, but that was still the recommendation at the time. Now that I have a four door we will keep the baby rear facing until aleat 2
ReplyDeleteI plan on keeping my babe rear facing for 2+ years :)
