My Review of #HomeRunInn Pizza

Hi everyone!  I don't know about you, but I'm pretty much always busy.  Supper time can throw me for a loop if I don't have a menu planned out.. Quite honestly, lately I haven't had a menu planned out and I've been running by the seat of my pants when it comes to meals.  I'm not big on frozen dinners and prefer to make things homemade without all the preservatives.   I was thrilled when I was introduced to Home Run Inn pizza!   Not only is it all natural with no preservatives, but it is made with REAL cheese!   I decided it was worth a shot to try something quick and easy !

First we set out to find this new pizza.  I am a huge fan of Chicago style pizza and had my fingers crossed that Home Run Inn would fill that craving for me.   Luckily Home Run Inn Pizza is available at most Kroger, Meijer and Marsh stores so finding one was a quick trip for me!  The only hard part was making the choice on which pizza style and flavors to try!

We choose to try the Classic style Cheese pizza (Dimples will only eat cheese. picky boy!).

As well as the Ultra Thin Sausage & uncured Pepperoni Pizza..

From freezer to table was less than half an hour (note: the classic crust cooked longer than the ultra thin) ..  One of the first things that set this frozen pizza apart from others we've tried is that we could smell the delicious dough as the pizza was cooking.

Everyone was able to try both kinds of pizza and I took a poll of their likes and dislikes.
Actually there were no dislikes but many compliments!

• Classic crust had a lovely buttery taste to it.  No cardboard texture that you get with traditional frozen pizzas. (Note- still following their original family recipe from 1947!  Family tradition at it's best!)
• REAL Mozzarella ! You could taste the flavor of having real cheese unlike many frozen pizzas when you have no clue what they are using because it tastes like plastic.  This cheese was amazing! (Note- It's shredded daily to maximize freshness and never produced with any fillers or dry powered milk.  Just real cheese! Delish!)
• Pepperoni & Sausage had wonderful flavor. (Note - all-natural HOMEMADE Italian sausage is prepared daily and spiced with their unique  old-world family recipe.  Their pepperoni and bacon are all natural - no nitrates  or fillers!)
• Tasted like carryout from a great restaurant vs a frozen pizza.

As you can see, we had nothing but good things to say about the Home Run Inn Pizza.  In fact, we are anxious to try a few more flavors.  I am personally excited to try their ultra thick version!  I love some great Chicago style deep dish!   It's no wonder that when compared to other frozen and delivered pizzas, Home Run Inn is consistently #1 according to Consumer Reports!   As a family of 8 with a few picky eaters in the mix, this was a hit for us!   The fact that it's made with all-natural ingredients makes it even better!  This is definitely a great choice for a quick and easy meal!

This and that

I love pinterest.

Not only do I find the perfect way that I will never have the money or time to decorate and remodel my house, but I can plan my nieces weddings should they ever decide to get married and  learn all kinds of new cleaning/organizing tips that I'll never use b/c I don't do that stuff.  And the crafts.. Oh the crafts that I find.  I love them but I'm not really a very crafty person, so I pin them and dream about them and then move on to something else. lol.

Today, however, was a different day.  Today I pinned something and then actually used the idea !

Breakfast Burritos.  You are welcome.  I actually made an entire menu with at least one item per day based off of my Food pins.   But back to the breakfast burritos..  The recipe made 22 burritos for me and I had everyone taste a tiny bit-  rave reviews all around.. Except for Dimples who politely told me " No, thank you" when offered a bite.. lmao.  I have no clue where he heard that bc the rest aren't that polite.. lol!    Regardless, I now have a quick warm breakfast in the freezer- completely homemade- for the kids.  This is awesome because let's face it, Momma ain't a morning person!

I feel all Sally Homemaker tonite..   Made ahead breakfast, several reviews scheduled at the review blog, I'm just ON it today!

***side note tres -  No puppy yet- which is why you haven't been bombarded with pictures of my wittle bitty baby.  She was supposed to come home this weekend but got sick, so waiting on that to get over with.. Good news- her name is ZOEY & she is now 1lb 11.5oz .. lol. Like I said- itty bitty.

****side note, again-  In case you haven't noticed, I decided to just completely ignore the fact that I haven't posted in weeks and rather than give you excuses I'll just go on and pretend it never happened.  You are most certainly welcome !

Mismatched pair

Daddy Chaos made bread.  When I say made bread, I mean took frozen dough out of the freezer (because where else would something frozen be, duh)... sprayed the bread pans.. placed said frozen dough into bread pans & placed in fridge overnite to dethaw.. He then baked it..  Daddy Chaos has done this many times before with never quite the above  results*..   It looks like a Daddy & baby loaf of bread.. What the heck??  It's just odd, that's all I'm saying..  completely for the record- Daddy Chaos is a wonderful cook &  has never had the misfortune to make such odd looking pairs of bread before.

For Mother's Day, I was soo nice.. I called my Momma up , told her my uterus was completely trying to kill me and on top of that I had this stupid cold in which I coughed so hard that I not only vomited & saw stars.. but I also got a bloody nose- all from one cough. I kid you not.  Once she recovered from that story telling - OMG, what if you had been driving, that cough does not sound very safe, how can you almost pass out from a cough?-  I totally played on her sympathies & rather than get her something (because dude, I totally let her have her pick of my Vera Stash) I begged her to make me some homemade noodles.. It worked.. She made me noodles- which I then cooked & promised leftovers (I'm not that bad of a daughter, I would have had her over for supper but hello I'm sick.. We tend to try to keep cooties away from Dad).  So Daddy's breads- although looking mighty funny, tasted great with my Mother's Day dinner.


*Silly man thought I'd come on here, make fun of his loafs & then just leave him hanging like a guy who just can't cook.  He can totally cook- he just likes to hide the fact so I dont make him do it more often!

 

MMM.. Charred poptarts anyone?

I am not a morning person. never have been, never will be. So when it comes to breakfast on school days, I am content to let DramaQueen & AttitudeKing fill themselves with bowls of cereal or poptarts. Even worse mom that I am (*gasp* I'm admitting that aloud?), I even let them MAKE their own poptarts! I know, the horrors huh?! I'm sure that goes right along with the stories of my parents who had to walk to school with no shoes in the snow, 10miles UPHILL each way..

Imagine my surprize when AttitudeKing comes out of the kitchen, grabs the air freshener out of the bathroom and rushes back to the kitchen.. hmmm , interesting.. A few moments later he comes coughing out of the kitchen- ok now I have to investigate! It seems my darling genius child has decided to put his poptart in the microwave vs the toaster (which was out on the counter btw) to heat his poptart.. Ok no biggie right? No biggie at all, except when you put said poptart into said microwave and then hit 3:00 before pushing start.. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the boy put a poptart in the microwave for 3minutes!!
The smell gradually worked it's way thru the entire house.. And of course since it was only 32* this morning, I couldn't exactly open all the windows to air out the house now could I? Have you ever smelled charred poptart?? Let me tell you it is not a pleasant smell! I did ask A.King if he thought it was really a good idea to put a poptart in the microwave for 3minutes and he responded that it seemed good at the time.. Apparently he has now learned the errors of his ways! No more microwaving poptarts- or maybe anything for that matter!
Thankfully it did finally warm up to a brisk 66* and I opened all the windows and aired out the house.. The microwave , on the other hand, still smells like someone put a wet cat into it and I have no clue how to get that smell to go away . Any tips anyone?
