Three weeks later..

After three weeks, we are finally in a routine with 5 kiddos. Now if only we could get Baby Bug to sleep anywhere other than our arms we'd be really doing good. I'm still existing on little to no sleep which makes for a bit grumpier than normal Momma. Alas, it can't be helped.. This too shall pass, hopefully we all make it out alive.. ok at least pray that the majority of us make it out alive k? I mean after all, I have 5 kids now. I can always spare one or two.. KIDDING! Totally kidding!

Since I've been neglecting you something fierce for the past few weeks , I figured I should give you a brief update on everyone!

Drama Queen ~ now that we've hit the 1/2 birthday, she's counting down the days til she's 13. According to her theory- all things will change immediately upon that magical 13th birthday. She will suddenly be 'grown up'. Stop it! 12 is plenty old enough for me and I still don't know how it happened! Something that really stuck out to me this summer is how much Drama Queen is like I was. She prefers to hang out with older friends vs her own age- her two fav. friends to hang with are her almost 17yo niece (which could be a post in itself about how did she get soo old! I remember when SHE was born.. lol.) & a family friend's newly 18yo daughter. Sadly, they love hanging with her so I guess she is more mature than her 12yrs.. either that or those girls are immature? lol! My best friends are 5, 12 & 16 yrs older than me... yup, I guess we are alike.

Attitude King ~ finally finished up baseball!! They won two tropheys- one for tournament champs & one for season champs. They were undefeated :) I'd like to brag and say they were just that good.. but I'm sure there was quite a bit of luck involved.

Spoiled Princess ~ is at that point where naps are still necessary if we all want to live thru the day, yet they are such a horrible punishment for mommy to hand out. Ohh the agony of a nap. Horrible I tell you! She is absolutely loving the new baby.. Funny enough, Drool Prince stayed at a friends for a few hours when we first brought Baby Bug home so Spoiled Princess was certain that we must have traded her baby DP off on the new baby Bug. It was too cute!

Drool Prince ~ still well in his terrible twos- full tantrums/screaming/hitting & now kicking. It was so fun at disney to get looks from people in front of you , only to look down and realize that DP was kicking them. He just discovered that hey this leg swings and feels funny so he tends to kick everything and everyone.. Fun times! He is loving his new brother :) He runs around the house like the tazmanian devil and then comes to a sudden stop to give the baby a quick kiss on the check & a rub on the head. It's enough to melt me every time.

Baby Bug ~ well what can you say about a newborn? He is now 5wks old and just finally passed his actual due date. He's gained 3lbs & grown almost 2 inches! He loves to be held close and still has his eyes closed most the time. We always tease that he's like a puppy. His ears are still kinda stuck down to his head & his eyes aren't open yet.. lol! Newborn sweetness is enough to get anyone thru a week with very little sleep :)

More to update on other issues later but I'm out of time for now :)

Just a day at the ballpark

Baseball is tiring.. Even if you aren't actually playing the game..

Attitude King won a ticket (plus hot dog, soda and free prize- which ended up just being a folder.. ohhh ahh a FOLDER) to a minor league baseball game thru his reading program at school. [Drama Queen did as well- but her school took them during the school day, whilst AK's school elected to let us Parents take them (and buy tickets for the rest of the family...) on a Sunday.. Whole 'nother story there..]

So off we went- our family of 6 to the baseball park. Of course the game didn't start til 2pm but they were leading all the kids on a little parade around the field in honor of their reading accomplishment.. So we had to be there at 1pm. No biggie, we had nothing planned for the day.

Let me just tell you that place was PACKED!! They had all us 'school' people sitting over on the cheap bleachers- not protected from the wind and brrrr was it cold- , while the actual nice seats (protected from the wind and like 10* warmer, plus alot more comfy) were basically empty.. I think we all looked longingly at those seats for a while but no one had the guts to sneak over.. Besides, that wouldn't be right. I'd never do that.. I wouldn't.. Shut up!

We ended up staying for the first 5 innings and then we left. Spoiled Princess was COLD and wanted to 'go home NOW', Drool Prince refused to sit still, didn't want to stand up, didn't want to sit on anyone's lap.. Yeah he was just antsy - couldn't be because he missed his nap.. nah, that'd never do it.. lol..

If we go again, we're definitely springing for the better seats.. Oh yeah and leaving the youngest two at home tied to their beds so we can actually watch any of the game. I swear I lost an entire inning between covering Spoiled Princess up again & tell Drool Prince to either sit down or stand up for the love of PETE!

The car was filled with the sound of snoring (yes my kids all snore, it's a beautiful symphony like sound.. Not) as the entire car gave in to what results in lots of outdoor time- outdoor time complete with wind--well except for us adults cuz ya know one of us was driving and the other of us was talking nonstop- no I'm not saying who is who.. shush!

I totally missed out on taking a picture of Daddy Chaos to share. He is (as he claims) just a White Boy.. the first sun of the year turns him into a lobster.. Even though the sun hide behind the clouds for most of the day, Daddy Chaos still managed to come home lobster'ish.. Lord only help us when we go to Disney in a few weeks!

Winning 9 to 5...

We won!! The baseball game that is.. 9 to 5, kicked some serious booty.. Yeah yeah, they're only 10yo boys .. I know, I know.. But still it's fun :)

Our team (ok AttitudeKing's team ~ whatever) consists of 4-5 players from last year & 4-5 players that moved up to this age division this year. I like our team. I like our coaches- normally.

We missed a practice game a few weeks ago. It was an impromptu practice game- we were only notifed the day before.. Unfortunately for us, it was on a day when DramaQueen had a sleep over, AttitudeKing spent the nite at the grandparents' & when all was said and done I plum forgot about the practice game.. Boy did I hear it the next day. Coach Serious called me up going on and on about how it was very hard to play w/o the 3rd baseman and if we werent' going to be there then please let him know so they could 'call someone up' .. Uhmm sorry, I didnt know ahead of time that I was going to FORGET this spur of the moment game. Excuse me. I promised it would never happen again and groveled at his feet so he'd quit yelling. Yes this story does have a point..

One of our pitchers is Coach Serious' son - I'll call him Fetch (ok quit, I'm not making fun of the kid.. If you knew his real name you'd agree that this nickname works). The kid seriously gets on my nerves and I'm sure he's just a product of his overly serious dad. Our first game (which we won also! woohoo boys!) , Fetch was on 2nd base and tried to steal 3rd base. He slid into 3rd base and got out. Fetch promptly rolled over and burst into tears complete with pounding on the ground. Officials rushed over thinking he's hurt... No, just mad that he got out.. The boy has attitude issues but with the way his dad can be at times I guess it's to be expected?!

Last night's game went pretty well. No one got seriously injured(which is always a plus in 10yo baseball). As I was saying earlier, our team is divided 1/2 older kids and 1/2 younger kids. It's hilarious to realize that apparently this is the age when the boys really shoot up. Somewhere between 9-10yrs b/c all the 10yos are absolute GIANTS compared to the 9yos..

Our batting string starts off with all the best batters (mostly 10yo's but one really awesome 9yo in there)... Fetch is a good hitter but on occasion strikes out- which normally results in him stomping off the field and throwing the bat at the fence..Attitude King up to bat... For some reason the pitchers have the hardest time pitching to AttitudeKing. I am sure it has something to do with the way he squats real low but he's almost always walked..

Then come the little 9yo's .. They look like little babies- it's soo cute, you want to just reach out and squeeze their cheeks! The tiniest one gets right up there and stands his ground, no jumping out of the box to avoid an inside ball.. not really sure if this is b/c he's brave or just doesn't realize that if that if it hits him- HELLO it's gonna hurt bad! Last nite he should have dodged but stood his ground and got hit in the leg with a ball (OUCH) but shook it off and took his base..

Then we have who can only be dubbed as 'the baton twirler'. I swear to you I heard soo many people hollaring at this kid..

Yes we are a good cheering squad- Good job, nice swing.. aww you struck out but hey GOOD TRY.. And if they do something great then oh my gawd you should hear the uproar or applause..

Baton Twirler stands at home plate. He swings his bat around one handed like a samuri sword and then finally puts both hands on it. Waits for the pitch... The minute the ball leaves the pitcher's hand , BT takes his bottom hand off the bat and steps back out of the box.. EVERY SINGLE TIME! It does not matter if it's a ball, perfect strike or what. Every. Single. Time. the boy steps back..

The crowd keeps yelling at him -
'Come on BT, quit twirling that bat like a baton and get up there to hit!'
'STAY in the box! You can do it just quit backing out'
'For the love of Pete, would you stay in there?!'

By the last inning, the coach would just shake his head and look away.. Baton Twirler struck out every time without ever staying in the box or keeping ahold of his bat..

We do have another baseball player in the making. DroolPrince is very into watching the game ,when he's not busy
-buckling the seatbelt of his stroller over and over (again mommy, again)
- laying on my lap and finding Lumpy, Roo, Tigger & Piglet in the clouds above us
- drooling sticky sucker drool all over his hands - ooh sticky..

Both Spoiled Princess & Drool Prince are a great little personal cheering block for Attitude King. The minute they see him on the field they start hollaring - GO AK! GO AK! GO! They clap anytime they hear someone else clap and yell YAHHHH!!

But my absolute favorite is their own little version of chatter-
Hey ba ba ba ba.. Hey ba ba ba ba.. (they sound like they're calling sheep).. The only downfall is they haven't figured out that we should only chatter when the OTHER team is up to bat.. Ahh well, they'll learn with time :)

'Tis the Season...

Baseball season that is.. Today starts the hectic season of running to the ballpark for practices, games... overpriced ballpark food (because you know no one is happy if they can't get at least one snack while they're sitting on the bleachers for 2hrs watching their brother play) and just general chaos. Thank goodness

Drama Queen decided to quit softball.. Bad of me to say huh?!

At least this year, we'll only be running over there for 1 kid. And we'll ALL be able to watch an entire game instead of being split up and running back and forth between the two because of course when you have two kids playing on two seperate teams they just always seem to be at the SAME time.. (how's that for the runon sentence of the year?)..

Practice began a few weeks ago... But today is the first official GAME.. Attitude King is playing 3rd base.. a new position for him. He's played baseball since he was in kindergarten (which believe me seems a lot longer ago than it really was.. lol) and has always been catcher- til last year.. Then he was in outfield, now he's 3rd base.. Whatever works right?!

On a completely unrelated matter~ I had a phone call from the oddest person last nite. I dont really want to talk about it yet but if things go as said, I'll update Monday.. Weird that this person called , but we'll see :) Ya know I love me a little suspense ! Happy weekend!
